March/April 2007
God is working in you to help you want to do and be able to do what pleases him.
New Pastor, New Beginnings
After filling in as the church's interim pastor the church asked Lonnie Brown to come and be
its full-time pastor for the next year. The church has enjoyed the ministry of Lonnie Brown
and his wife, Helen, as they have served the church for the past three months. We are excited
about what God has planned for the Noble Church and its future. Lonnie is looking forward to his
serving the Lord at the Noble Church. Lonnie believes that God has much in store for the people
of the Noble Church. Lonnie extends open arms and a warm welcome to come worship with the good
people of the Noble church.
Church Mourns Death
Church mourns the death of Henry Carter who passed away April 17th, 2007. Henry was the
father of Beverly Carter, a member of the Noble Church of the Nazarene. Brother Carter was
the pastor of the Noble Free Holiness Church in Noble for many years. The church expresses
its heartfelt sympathy at th epassing of Brother Carter and to his family.
Easter Celebrated
The church enjoyed its Easter Sunrise service, which was held Easter morning at 7:30am.
There were a few who weren't sure about the early start but in the end had a great time worshipping our
Lord and savior early. Breakfast was served by George and Betty Richtmeyer and it was such a
big hit and so delicious. The service that followed was a spirit-filled time with the Lord's
presence falling upon the entire worship service. Our prayer is that all will make it Easter every day.
Church Board Elected
March 1 the church elected its new church board for the 2007 church year. We want to thank those
who allowed their names to be on the ballot. Please keep your church board in your prayers as they
do the work of the Lord in the leadership of the church.
Children's Church Grows
Everyone is excited that children's church is up and running, and a very big thanks to
Sandra Snively who felt led of the Lord to step in and help out with the children. Keep
her in your prayers as she seeks to tell children about the love of Jesus.
Cookout Planned by Teens
Teens are planning a cookout May 19th at the church at 5:00pm. Everyone is invited to come and
enjoy the cookout and time of games and fellowship. We will build a campfire and have a wiener
roast out behind the church. Be sure and bring your favorite snack food. Hot dogs and buns
will be provided. Old and young alike are welcomed. Be sure and bring a friend and celebrate
springtime at the church. God Bless.
Words from the Word - Matthew 15:55-57
Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
How tragic the news was from the college of Virginia Tech this week.
Our hearts go out to those that were senselessly lost in this terrible act,
and to their families. Yet we read in Matthew, that through our Lord and savior Jesus Christ,
sin and death hold no power over us. That we can have victory through what Jesus did for
you and I on the cross at Calvary. That when death comes even in the horrible events of a college
shooting, we have the assurance that what God has promised and completed in His death, brings
life and victory over death for you and I.
